Recently I visited a mobile home in Huntington Beach where there was a
roof leak problem in the awning enclosure. The resident said it had been
repaired several times. The only problem was that each time the repair was
substandard, so now there were several issues.
Whenever you need repairs to your mobile home,  always get at least two
bids. You may need a third bid if the first two bids vary widely in what the
contractor wants to do as a repair and in what they want to charge for
these repairs.
It usually is less expensive in the long run to do the repair correctly the first
time than to have someone come out the following year only to undo the
first repair and re-repair the problem.
Mobile homes and manufactured housing repairs are generally very
specific to these kinds of homes. Using a contractor with a C-47 ,
Manufactured Housing contractor's license is generally the best solution.
Run away if you hear something like, "oh I can work on those, they're just
like regular homes, but smaller".
Mobile Homes and manufactured homes are regulated by different
agencies and adhere to different codes and regulations. If they were the
same as conventional homes the state would not require a seperate and
different contractor's license.

Did you know that according to California Health and Safety Code,
section18025.

(a) Except as provided in subdivisions (b) and (c),
it is unlawful for any
person to sell, offer for sale, rent, or lease within this state, any
manufactured home or any mobile home
, commercial coach, or special
purpose commercial coach manufactured after September 1, 1958,
containing structural, fire safety, plumbing, heat-producing, or electrical
systems and equipment unless the systems and equipment meet the
requirements of the department for those systems and that equipment and
the installation of those systems and that equipment".
